Coordinates

Arriving in Florence

By Air

Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR): Located just 20 minutes from the city center. Best for domestic/European connections.

Pisa International Airport (PSA): Located 1 hour away. An easy direct train connects Pisa Airport to Florence Santa Maria Novella (SMN) central station.

Central Rail

Firenze Santa Maria Novella (SMN): High-speed trains run constantly from Rome (1.5 hrs), Milan (2 hrs), and Venice (2 hrs). The station is located in the absolute heart of Florence.

Local Transport

Taxis are readily available outside the SMN station and major hotels. Florence itself is a highly walkable pedestrian city; cars are generally discouraged inside the ZTL (historic center).

Florence Journal: Our Local Loves

Café Gilli

Florence's oldest coffee house. Stop by for strong espresso and fresh sfogliatella standing at the beautiful oak bar.

Boboli Gardens

Sweeping historical Renaissance gardens behind Pitti Palace. Perfect for a quiet morning walk among roses.

Uffizi Gallery

Witness Botticelli’s Venus in the flesh. We highly advise booking tickets online weeks in advance.

Gelateria dei Neri

Our favorite artisan gelateria. Try the Ricotta and Fig, or Dark Chocolate Pistachio scoop.
